General Shopping Hours

The summer period runs from April 1 to October 31; most shops are open at the following times:

  • ·Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 09:00-13:00 and 16:00-20:30
  • ·Wednesday: 09:00-14:00
  • ·Friday: 09:00-13:00 and 14:30-21:30
  • ·Saturday: 09:00-17:00

During high summer from June 15 to August 31, shops in towns may close from 14:00-17:00.


The winter period runs from November 1 to March 31; most shops are open at the following times:

  • ·Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 09:00-13:00 and 14:30-19:00
  • ·Wednesday: 09:00-14:00
  • ·Friday: 09:00-13:00 and 14:30-20:00
  • ·Saturday: 09:00-15:00

Note: These hours are generally accurate. However, for a three-month trial period starting 12 July 2013, a new law allows all shops to stay open from 05:00-22:00  Monday to Saturday, and 09:00-21:00 on Sundays. It is not yet clear whether the trial times will continue in 2014.

 The Carrefour group offers a wide range of both food and non-food products. The prices are reasonable and supermarkets are always fully stocked.  Various promotions are always going on at the supermarket on an assortment of goods such as greeting cards, video games, stationery, toys, kitchenware, furnishing, clothes, sportswear and shoes. There is also a cafeteria on the first floor for snacks.  Toilets are well-equipped with baby nappy changing facilities available.

 Modern, supermarket with own parking garage. Very good selection of local and imported products. Sundance Villas recommended:  special offers in meat department every Tuesday, fish department every Thursday. Very big wine selection of big and even smaller Cyprus wineries. Small restaurant in store, very well priced. New from November 2013: Alpha Mega is now providing a wide range of TESCO products as well.

 There are two Papantoniou supermarkets stores in Paphos, one in Chlorakas and a further one in Polis. All branches stock many international and national products and offer good discounts. Their butchery section is famous, with meat products selling out in minutes. They are renowned for the fruit & vegetable section, fish, bakery and delicatessen. There is a little cafeteria in each store. Parking is limited at the shop near the harbour. They have excellent Sundance Villas recommended bakeries all over Paphos, which also sell basics such as milk.

Lidl Supermarkets:  104 Tombs of the Kings Ave. Paphos, Paphos  and Alexandrou Ypsilanti 49 8020 Pafos

 Lidl opened its first stores in Cyprus in November 2010. They now have 13 stores all over the island and are quite popular among Cypriots, other residents and visitors. They sell an interesting range of products, foods, drinks and other household items that are reasonably priced. Their in-house bakery offer a wide variety of freshly baked bread and rolls at good prices throughout the day.  Every Monday and Thursday special promotions-offers available in both stores.

 Chilly’s Frozen Foods

 Frozen food shops selling goods imported from the UK. Locations all over Cyprus and Pafos area.

 GB Imported Foods

There are several GB Imported Food Stores around Paphos. The stores are quite large and offer a wide selection of imported food at low prices. The Mesogi and Kissonerga Branches are also known as “Euro Shops” and their products usually cost less than Euro 2.00. They also offer a  large variety of household items, cleaning products, toys, tools etc. at low prices.

 Debenhams department store, which is originally from the UK, has its franchise stores all over Cyprus. In Paphos, the bigger store is opposite the Pafiako stadium. Supermarket, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, cafeteria, and a bakery are all found here. Next door is the Homecenter, selling household items. The smaller Debenhams near the harbour (opposite Papantoniou) sells clothes, cosmetics and shoes. Debenhams near the harbour has a Sundance Villas recommended cafeteria too.

A brand new landmark which opened its doors on 21st of November 2013.
The Kings Avenue Mall is the new, full concept shopping mall of Paphos.  It comprises of two underground basements for parking and two floors for shopping, leisure, entertainment and services. On the ground floor of Kings Avenue Mall you may find several department stores, banks, fashion shops for men and women, a supermarket and a toy and homeware mega store. On the first floor there are additional fashion shops, including kids fashion, sports apparel, lifestyle and services shops, such as: cosmetics, toys, gifts, jewellery, lingerie, fashion accessories, electronics & multimedia, optical, mini market, beauty salon and many more.
 There are also: 3 full service restaurants, 8 different fast food concepts, 3 cafes, 6 Cinema halls, video arcade and a  kids’ play-place (indoor & outdoor). In the underground parking areas are located service shops, such as: dry cleaning, shoe repairs, key cutting, tailoring, florist etc.
