VILLA HERA - OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD
If you are looking for a quiet family holiday, in a beautiful location then Villa Hera is the place for you. We have been holidaying in Cyprus for several years now - working our way further west each year - and have always used the same two villa companies. We wanted to try something different so booked through Sundance. From the outset the support from Irene was fantastic and made the booking process seamless. We had good advice and lots of support (thankyou Irene!) Villa Hera itself is in a small cul-de-sac with sea views to the front and several other very high-class villa's to the rear. The villa is not overlooked and has plenty of space. As it sits on a hill-side it picks up any sea breezes. Inside each bedroom has its' own shower / toilet, blackout curtains and aircon unit. There are plentiful towels and additional bedding if needed. Downstairs the large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas keep the area quite cool. The kitchen has a new dishwasher and washing machine which were a nice bonus. The WiFi is fast enough for holidaying and coped with five mobile devices at once. If wanted the TV picks up quite a few English Sky channels. Outside there are plenty of sun-loungers & umbrellas. The seating area under the canopy is a lovely place to sit in the afternoons if it is very hot. We used the outside table every evening after eating out to play cards and drink wine. There is lots of outside lighting. The pool is one of the cleanest we have encountered and big enough for a good swim (our sons are 22, 19 & 14 and it was fine for them). Just be aware the shallow end is 0.8M deep if you have 6' sons! We would certainly recommend having a car to get around. The beach opposite is quite stony and shelves off quickly (with a bit of undertow) but once you get out to shoulder depth is good for swimming - if you have small children head to the public beach in Latchi (15 mins drive). We had lots of fun jumping off the purpose built swimmers pier at Limni Yacht Club (follow the road to Polis, just before the town there is a sharp left hand bend, the turn into the pier car-park is on the right). Eating out - our favourite was Coast Tavern on the road to Polis (about five mins drive from the villa). George, young George (waiter) and Elizabeth the chef are super friendly & attentive and the Cypriot food is fantastic. They made us feel very special. Shopping - Papantonio Supermarket in Polis is a Cypriot version of Tesco and has absolutely everything you could need. There are couple of good small bakeries on the main road for freshly baked bread etc. We had a wonderful two weeks at Villa Hera and the team at Sundance were excellent (thankyou Irene, Nicole & Svetlana). We would thoroughly recommend a visit. Kim, Paul, Jacob, Benjamin & Samuel Hopgood.
Just had our 3rd holiday via Sundance Villas and the 2nd visit back to Villa Hera. A beautiful villa set in the hillside and with great sea views & close enough to see the waves rolling in to the beach and listen to the sea throughout the evening. A lovely villa with all the amenities you could wish for. The perfect place for a quiet and tranquil holiday in an unspoilt setting - the trade-off is a car but we are more than happy with this scenario as opposed to being in a more commercial resort & we like being able to go further afield and explore a bit. Some great local restaurants if you don't want to go into Polis. Already planning a return visit! Many thanks to Irene & her team for all their help. Another wonderful holiday.
Could it get any better than this
First let me say that my wife and I are of a certain age where we are looking for a relaxing and peaceful location with a great view, good facilities and privacy for our holidays. Villa Hera delivered all of these and more. Getting up in the morning and taking coffee on the bedroom balcony with a panoramic view over miles of unspoiled beaches is not a bad way to start your day. You definitely need a car here but the trade off for that is those miles of unspoiled beaches where even in June we were sometimes completely alone on the beach. If you want a little more company, how about beach bars that don't charge for the use of the sun beds and umbrellas and even those aren't crowded. This villa is very comfortable and well equipped, don't pack books ample reading for even the most avid reader. The outside space is wonderful with shade and sun most times of the day and spectacular views over the Mediterranean. The best place to watch sunsets is right by the pool. In Polis you will find everything you need for your holiday with good supermarkets and a great selection of places to eat and not a MacDonalds in sight. Bliss. Get adventurous take your car off into the mountains and try some of the tavernas off the beaten track we did and had some wonderful meals. Recommendations The Halfway House, on the coast road surprisingly about half way between the villa and Polis. There you can dine outside under a canopy of grape vines or in their air conditioned restaurant. Food excellent, welcome warm and bill surprisingly small. Moustakis a wonderful restaurant in Polis, great service, great food I guarantee you will go back to this one again and again. So if you want a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle, try Villa Hera, you won't be disappointed
First Class Holiday Villa
We loved Villa Hera and are hoping to return next year. It is in a quiet, secluded location, with open views down over fields of crops to the sea, but is only a few minutes drive to restaurants, a very good bakery, and a good minimarket. Papantoniou Supermarket in Polis has everything you need, with a good fish and meat counter. The villa is spacious, comfortable and clean, with all the amenities as described - an added bonus is the water cooler, nice to have ice-cold water on tap. The welcome hamper was a treat, it gave a fine start to our stay. If you enjoy walking, once you've covered the surrounding area on foot, take the car down to the coast road towards Pomos, take almost any road off to the right, park the car and set off. We did this often and found something different and interesting every time. We drove through the village of Gialia and came upon a recently discovered 14th century monastery - well worth a look, and we were so lucky to see a wild mouflon there. Perfect end to the day is enjoying a glass of wine in the very comfortable pergola, watching the sunset over Akamas Hills. Irene and her team could not have been more helpful and pleasant, and we look forward to booking with them again. Betty and Billy Nicolson.

Excellent service and a lovely villa
Dear Irene A short note to thank you for an excellent service and lovely time at Villa Hera, Polis. We really enjoyed our time there. I have emailed a suggestion to help navigate to the villa, perhaps someone might check it if you think it could be helpful. We had a great stay and look forward to using your excellent service again. Best Regards Mike S November 2015
Beautiful 10m long pool to swim off the lovely food
Hi Irene, We just want to say an enormous Thank You for suggesting Villa Hera as it was perfect for us. Most evenings we had a BBQ whilst the sun set over the sea, the views are just fantastic. We went into Polis and pre book Arsinoe Fish Tavern as you recommended in the paperwork and it was just as well we did, it was full, mainly with Cypriot families. The fish meze was absolutely delicious. Thanks for advising re the Lidl in Paphos as we stopped there on route and stocked up, which meant we could literally crash out for 3 days. The Sundance hamper is such a good idea. When we stayed in Portugal we were not offered one, in fact your hamper with the wine, bacon and eggs is just perfect. Villa Hera is a comfortable light and airy villa and extremely well equipped. We could not see the immediate neighbours and they could not see us around the pool, just how we like it. This was a holiday to remember! Best regards from a cloudy Hastings Margaret W
