Fantastic Villa

Irene, Would like to say a huge thank you. We had a fantastic holiday and the villa was great. Very accessible and spacious suited our party (7 people) down to the ground. Pool was perfect with the hoist and the steps. Villa manager was also very nice and approachable. Local people were lovely and very accommodating with the wheelchair and everyone spoke very good English. We used Trip Advisor to decide on what restaurants to go to. Definitely recommend Polis Herb Garden and Old Town as the food was delicious and an there was some lovey restaurants in the square which were very reasonably priced too. We decided to hire an electric chair while we were there for around about £80 (via Irene) and it was the best £80 I have spent. This enabled me to have more independence and was very useful going up into the local town as it is very hilly and would have been difficult for the people pushing me especially in the heat. Definitely recommend that if you rely of people to push you. Highly recommend this villa and would definitely consider returning.

A complete success. Sundance Villas as a company, and you as it's human face, were a pleasure to deal with

Dear Irene, Thank you very much for getting in touch with me again. I do apologize for not responding earlier in this whole episode. I remember now you contacted me way back in October/November -- my care responsibilities do overwhelm the rest of things so quickly, and I often don't juggle all the other bits of life so well. I do get there in the end usually though :-) Yes, do please post the Kindle when you have a chance. If you would remind me of your bank details, I'd like to reimburse you for the postage. My family's stay at Villa Timily back in June/July was a complete success re my husband's mobility needs. I do hope we will be able to return there again in the future. Sundance Villas as a company, and you as it's human face, were a pleasure to deal with. I have recommended you - and Cy-Breeze Car Rental -- to a few people now and wish you both continued success for the coming season. Once again, my thanks for the remind about the kindle. Kind regards, Janet Havard

Dad found it very easy to get about in his wheelchair, so much so he especially wanted to take the accessible en suite home!

Dear Irene Sorry to miss you when you visited Villa Timily last week (I never did receive that text, must still be flying around the ether!). We enjoyed our stay very much. The villa was perfect for my dad - he found it very easy to get about in his wheelchair, so much so he especially wanted to take the accessible en suite home! It was very quiet, without the usual crowing cockerels and barking dogs you often get in Greece, which made for a very relaxing holiday! The villa was very well equipped, it was a pleasure to stay in. I think the only suggestion we would make is a side/coffee table in the living area! I'm sure however if the evenings were warmer we'd have been living outside more and not been sitting in the living room so wouldn't have noticed. The November weather was good (as you found too!), albeit a bit colder in the evenings than it seemed to be down in Paphos area from what a couple in the airport said. We did have to succumb to using the air con for heating the living room and my parents room for a few hours on Wed and Thurs evening when the temperature seemed to dip a bit more. Thanks once again for your service, we'd definitely recommend Sundance to others. Jacqueline A

Another wonderful holiday

Dear Irene, I had a wonderful time in villa Timily. Everything was like it should be! I already recommended the house to friends. I will be booking with you again, definately :-) Kindest regards, Carmen Vormbrock, Repeat client, Germany

Absolutely brilliant!

Hi Irene & Lauren We’re just back from our three weeks stay at Villa Timily in Polis, Cyprus, and we’ve had an absolutely brilliant time. This holiday was to celebrate Dave’s retirement, it was all about rest and relaxation, plus a little walking, swimming, reading and the occasional meal out, each to do as and when we’ve wanted to, no rush, it’s been wonderful. Villa Timily was perfect it was light and airy, very comfortable and really well presented. Everything we could possibly need was to hand even including some very comfy towelling flip flops, which were nice to put on after a shower. The beach towels were a lovely touch as well and definitely saved space in our cases, we couldn’t have asked for more. The library drawer was brilliant too, although we each had taken a couple of books, I ended up reading six in total and Dave four because there was such a good choice, another nice touch. We’ve enjoyed the pool as well as our little jaunts to the beach. Lee our house manager was superb, on the odd occasions we needed to contact him he was on hand to deal with our queries/problems. We had an incident with the umbrella on the patio in the very early hours of one morning during a lightning storm, (we only had two storms don’t worry). The wind was extremely strong so we decided to risk life and limb and go and put it down, quite scantily clad I have to say because of the urgency!!! However, although we tried, we just couldn’t get it down, not sure whether that was from laughing or fear!!! As part of the cover had come off anyway, we decided the best course of action was to take it off altogether, one chair had blown off the patio already and we had visions of the table and umbrella following in its wake!!! I contacted Lee at a more reasonable hour later that day and he came round straight away. The umbrella had actually jammed, that’s why we couldn’t get it down, and it wasn’t for want of trying. As it was torn due to wear and tear over the months, he took it away to do a touch of needlework!!! (Actually it was his mum in law doing the needlework). Chris our bubbly cleaner was great as well, we got on famously. Put it this way she would make the sun shine even if it wasn’t, a great asset to Lee’s team. It was really nice getting to know them both during our stay. Just as you said, it was a nice five minute stroll to our nearest taverna, ‘Karouzi’s, which actually became our favourite because of the lovely atmosphere, their friendliness and excellent food. It took us about 10 – 15 minutes to walk to the beach, as we chose to take the road rather than go through the campsite. The walk into Latchi via the new walkway, which is very impressive we have to say, took us about 30 minutes as we stopped a couple of times to admire the view and have a well needed gallon of water, it kept leaking out!!!! However, as the weeks went on and it got hotter, we finally succumbed to getting a taxi back with Nissos rather than do the return journey on foot. Apart from our flight transfers we used Nissos a few times during the course of our stay and were very impressed with their quick and efficient service. Their drivers were very smartly dressed and very friendly indeed we had some lovely conversations with each of them on our journeys. Just out of interest one evening we had a walk round to the other villas near the beach just to see what they were like, especially as we nearly booked one. Although they looked ok, from the outside and had lovely views of the sea and sunset, we had a feeling they weren‘t as high spec as Villa Timily, so were really glad that we’d opted for Villa Timily in the end, with your guidance of course, thank you for that. It would have meant a much longer walk up to the supermarket as well. Talking of which, Chris’s was really friendly with the added bonus that Kyrios Chris kindly delivered our shopping on the back of his moped for us. We would set off back and he would follow after five minutes, it was great. All in all we’ve had a fantastic time at Villa Timily and met some really nice people as well and didn’t really want to leave, especially when we landed in the cold and rain at Manchester yesterday evening. We nearly turned around and came back!!! Alas, all good things must come to an end, but hopefully and finances willing we will be back in the not to distant future. Thank you once again, Kind regards Janice & Dave Morris

Perfect villa and suitable for my electric scooter. Brilliant wet room, ramps etc. A lot of thought has gone into it

Villa Timily was the perfect villa for my family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 15 and 12. I know the area well as I have stayed in or near Polis 9 times. I checked the villa out before booking to make sure the area was suitable for my electric scooter, as I am disabled. We had arranged a hire car through Sundance with Cy-Breeze. Nick was waiting for us at the airport and was very helpful. The car was only a few months old for which we had paid a little extra. When we have hired vehicles from other companies they have never been as well maintained and clean as this one was. We went straight to the villa and arrived just before midnight. The welcome pack was really nice as it contained everything that we could use, unlike some that you can only use 1 or 2 items. The childrens variety pack of cereals, typhoo tea, nescafe, bread, jams and even wine etc. were picked by someone who had put some thought into it. The villa was spotless with a good sized open plan kitchen, dining room and living area. The 3 double bedrooms were very spacious. There was a family shower room and a very large en suite wet room. The ramps to the front door and to the pool were great but there was even a ramp over the rail for the patio door making it very easy to get in and out. All doors were wide enough for most wheelchairs or scooters. The wet room was brilliant with lots of space to turn my scooter around. There was a support rail next to the toilet and a fold-up stool on the wall of the shower. The floor was non-slip with a wheelchair space under the toilet. Everything in the kitchen was easily accessible with a space under the sink and hob. There is an iron and hairdryer as well as plenty of inflatables for the pool and a few games, books etc. We did have a slight problem with the air conditioning unit but Lee, the maintenance man, reacted quickly to have it repaired. The pool was lovely, with a ramp from the patio and wide roman steps. This was the first time we have had fly screens and I didn't think they were necessary but they were invaluable. We didn't have any spiders, mossies or lizards in the villa which is very unusual. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach or up to the restaurants. The beach is wheelchair friendly in the mid to high season as a removable path is laid and you can get to the sea. From there you can walk to Latchi in 30 minutes or so… There are many restaurants which are all aimed at the tourists and all offer similar menus. We prefer to eat in Polis as the restaurants are mainly run by local cypriot families. From the villa there is quite a steep but short bank into the centre. There are a few smaller supermarkets within walking distance but the big supermarket on the edge of Polis towards Argaka, sells most british branded foods as well as local produce. If you don't want to drive and there are disabled people in the group, then I don't have any hesitation in recommending C & A taxis in Polis. They have minibuses with lifts in the back and passengers who can't leave their wheelchairs, are anchored to the floor. It costs approx. £140 for a return journey and takes 45 minutes from Paphos airport. When you have to leave your villa, they will collect your luggage and you can either go to C & A when you are ready, and their whole family is very welcoming. Our favourite restaurant is Moustakalis, next to the car park in the square. The food is excellent and the welcome even better. The old man who owns it has a long moustache hence the name. His son, Andreas and grandsons run it. You will not get a better welcome anywhere else in Cyprus. Andreas takes the time to talk to all diners and always gives you a free drink at the end. Finikas offers good food as does Chix Chox, both in the square, but the service is better at Moustakalis. Toilet facilities, at most restaurants, I am told, are good, but they aren't very disabled friendly. If you need to stay in your wheelchair, all restaurants will lift the table. There are many places to just have a coffee and snack, but away from Polis square access is very difficult. There are a few shops in the square that sell postcards, gifts etc. One has a ramp but once in, it is very difficult to turn around as the aisles are very narrow. Take your disabled car sticker as you can use it in Cyprus. We were told that prices had increased massively but we found them exactly the same as the year before. With this villa you can have a cheap holiday by dining in, as there is everything you need to cook a full meal or, eat out. For a family of 4 with soft drinks we spent about £80-£90 for 3 courses and a little less if we had mezes. I know this email is long Irene but I find there is so much to Cyprus that you couldn't possibly explain it with any other way. Thanks, Jan Todd
