Late Flight Home? Where to spend the time
Take a look at our Vlog video lower down where Lauren and I visit some places that may be of interest for when you have a late flight home, or want to spend an extra night or two in Paphos.
If you have a late return flight home from Paphos Airport, it may be possible to book and pay for your Paphos villa for an extra day, and stay undisturbed. Contact us for this type of request.
If this is not possible, please check with your villa owner 48 hours before you depart from Cyprus, to get an up to date reply regarding a late checkout request.
If a late checkout is not possible, (or the length of time you need is not possible), here are some suggestions for where you may choose to spend time before catching your flight home, or if you would like to stay in a Hotel for a night or two, and take advantage of a cheaper flight:
In Paphos
See Vlog: Fitos Inn, Geroskipou, (between Paphos airport and Paphos Town). Fitos Inn is en route to Paphos Airport and close to Villa Katerina, and we have selected it as it is away from the hustle and bustle, situated in a beautiful leafy garden. Facilities include pool, restaurant, Wi-Fi, childrens’s playground, tennis and an airport shuttle. “We booked online but on arrival we spoke to one of the owners and after explaining we would be leaving at 8pm she reduced the price down without us asking. The room was clean and did the job for our requirements, along with the use of the pool. Staff were helpful and pleasant so if I needed a room I would book again.” RM July 2018. They also have Live Chat where you can explain your requirements, (ie a room, meal in restaurant OR just use of facilities) for a quote. Please mention Sundance Villas https://www.fitosinn.com.cy/index.php/en/

See Vlog: Cielo restaurant, Geroskipou, (between Paphos airport and Paphos Town). The modern Blue Diamond has changed its name to Cielo (May 2019). It is in a good location for Paphos Airport which is about 15 minutes drive. It is opposite the undeveloped Riccos beach, which to me never feels overly busy, so therefore less stressful on your flight day. Cielo is also suitable for disabled people as it has an accessible WC. The pool is not classed as accessible but it would appear to be limited mobility friendly for some, as you can sit on the raised edge, swivel round and access it. Guests of the restaurant can use the pool, open showers, changing rooms and toilets, and with a car full of luggage you can park in the car park and keep an eye on the car. They do not hire rooms just for the day, but it may be worth asking if you are there for a number of hours.
Tel. +357 26 273001. Agapinoros Street 89, Geroskipou. Open 10am to 10pm
See Vlog: Closest to Paphos Airport is Bonamare beach bar café. It is on the left, on the beach, about 200m before Paphos airport. Easy free parking. We had a hot Cyprus Sandwich for our brunch, which was lovely, lounza and halloumi in a pitta cut into two, with chips and salad. If you cannot finish it, ask to take it away wrapped in aluminium foil. I did, and ate mine on the plane, yum.
Tel. +357 99 800298. Paralia timis, Timi 2828, Paphos.
Beach next to Bonamare beach bar cafe
See Vlog: Axiothea Hotel. A very basic but clean and traditional hotel in a central location is the Axiothea Hotel in the old town in Paphos. No pool. We think it is a fantastic location to experience central Paphos on foot. There are many coffee shops and good tavernas in this area, and Muse Bar is the perfect location to watch the sunset over Paphos, the view is jaw dropping.
Tel. +357 26 932866 or +357 96 395992. 2, Ivis Malioti Street, Paphos. Opposite Muse Bar
and also in Paphos Town:
See Vlog: Casa Mespilea is also in central Paphos, but opposite in style to Hotel Axiothea. The owners Costas and Youlla describe it as “a serene environment”. To Lauren and me, it felt both serene and slightly surreal, we were simply gushing about the renovation and styling, it is full of great ideas and small detail, a mix of the best of modern in a traditional setting. All double beds are Queen size, and each room has the name of a fruit. The pretty courtyard garden with fruit trees for shade is an extra bonus. From €85 per night.
Tel. +357 99 683757. 3, Pygmalionos 8046, Paphos. 1 minute’s walk from the main Post Office, 3 minutes’ from the Market.
See Vlog: Corallia Beach Hotel Apartments are just past Coral Bay, and next to the actual sandy Corallia Beach, so great for children. Pay Euro 10,00 per person on arrival, and use all the facilities incl. pool, showers & restaurant. They will store your luggage for you. When you need to get ready for the airport they will give you the key to the gym where you can have a shower, get changed etc. Take your own towels. They may have a room if you prefer this, and should supply towels, so please check. They cannot pre-book a room just for a day or night in high season. This they can advise only 1-2 days prior to date, and the room would cost Euro 90,00. (2018.)
